Lock down payments and purchases
Require parental approval for every purchase, enforce biometrics for Apple Pay or Google Pay, and hide notification previews on the lock screen: that's where the verification codes (2FA) a thief can exploit show up.
Write down the IMEI and turn on backups

At what age should a child get a phone?
