Carry-on suitcase: how to choose the right size for your flight
Dimensions, weight, ticket and packing: check your itinerary's conditions before choosing a suitcase.
1. Check the airline and your ticket
There is no carry-on size accepted on every flight. Your allowance can depend on the operating airline, fare and connections. A ticket may include only a small personal item, which is different from a carry-on suitcase.
Read Air Canada's official conditions if flying with that airline, and the relevant carrier's conditions for other flights. Check the rules again before departure.
2. Measure the whole suitcase
Compare the chosen model's external dimensions with your flight's limits. Include wheels, handles and protruding pockets. A marketing label such as “airplane size” does not guarantee acceptance.
3. Compare weight and packing space
Check the empty weight and any limit on your ticket. Compare compartments, the handle and how easily you can move a loaded suitcase. Pack for your trip rather than choosing solely by advertised capacity.
4. Understand the options
If the model has a TSA-compatible lock, read its instructions: a lock does not guarantee protection from theft or damage. If it has a USB port, check how it works, what is included and the airline's battery rules. A port does not mean a battery is supplied.
Carry-on or checked baggage?
For a short trip, a small suitcase may be enough if your ticket and itinerary allow it. For a longer stay, compare capacity and checked-baggage allowances. Fees depend on the ticket and carrier, not just the suitcase.
Read the PÜRE suitcase product page for the exact model specifications, then compare them with your flight's conditions. Check the current product page for price, dimensions, options and availability.
Frequently asked questions
Does a carry-on suitcase fit every airline's rules?
No. Check dimensions, any weight limit and your ticket allowance for each flight.
Does a suitcase with USB include a battery?
Not necessarily. Check the included components and model instructions before buying.
Can the airline ask you to check the suitcase?
Flight conditions and available space may lead to it being placed in the hold. Read the carrier's rules and follow boarding instructions.
