From a chairlift moment to a global brand
It all started on a ski day in Quebec. Alexandre Mentink pulled out his phone on a chairlift to capture the view — and nearly watched it disappear into the void below. That split-second scare sparked a question that would change everything: what if there was an elegant, secure way to keep your phone within reach — without ever risking losing it?
Growing up in Lorraine, just outside Montreal, entrepreneurship was in Alexandre's blood. His mother, Michele Mentink, built the first private aviation training company from the ground up. His grandfather, John Mentink, engineered landing gear systems for the U.S. Air Force. Innovation and bold thinking run deep in the family.
After spending over a decade as a general contractor in construction, Alexandre shifted gears into digital marketing — managing the career of Canadian pop artist Alicia Moffet and discovering a passion for building brands with international reach. That experience gave him the conviction to launch CARRY Ü with a singular ambition: create a brand that resonates worldwide.

The company works closely with Guillaume Alarie of Advanta Design, an industrial designer known for his user-first approach — turning Alexandre's initial spark into rigorously tested, market-ready products.
